Captain Malcolm Winter-DaBreo
Captain Malcolm is an experienced and safety-driven charter captain based in the British Virgin Islands, with over five years of command and marina leadership experience throughout the region. Known for his calm professionalism and deep knowledge of local waters, Malcolm has captained both sailing and motor yachts ranging from 40 to 62 feet, delivering seamless and memorable charter experiences.
His extensive background includes full command responsibility with The Moorings in Tortola, where he served as Captain, Dock Master, and Charter Operations lead from 2018 to 2025. In this role, he conducted detailed charter briefings and safety orientations, managed dock operations and fleet logistics, and captained full itineraries throughout the BVI. He has also worked as a freelance charter captain for BVI Yacht Charters, commanding 40–50+ ft vessels and planning safe, customized passages for guests seeking both adventure and relaxation. Earlier in his career, Malcolm served as Briefing and Dock Master with Dream Yacht Charter, coordinating marina operations and ensuring vessels and guests were fully prepared for their voyages.
Holding a Boat Master Grade 2 License (2025–2028), STCW 95 certification, Marine Radio License, First Aid certification, and ASA 101, Malcolm maintains full compliance with BVI maritime regulations and international safety standards. His strengths include vessel command and safe navigation, crewed and bareboat charter operations, passage planning, local area expertise, and strong crew leadership.
With a sharp focus on guest comfort, operational excellence, and safety at sea, Captain Malcolm brings confidence, reliability, and a deep appreciation for the beauty of the Virgin Islands to every charter he leads.
