Captain: David Gies
With over 20 years of yachting experience, David brings unparalleled expertise to the helm of M/Y Blue Time. His career has taken him across enough miles to circumnavigate the globe eight times, with extensive cruising aboard charter yachts in New England, the Caribbean, the Mediterranean, the Bahamas, and Alaska.
Originally from Spokane, Washington, David now calls Lighthouse Point, Florida, home, where he lives with his wife and son. Known for his casual personality and easy-going attitude, David fosters a happy, team-oriented environment onboard. His commitment to detail, safety, and fun ensures that every guest enjoys the ultimate charter experience.
Chef: David Rosa
“We are what we eat, and nutrition is the foundation of a vibrant life.” This guiding philosophy inspires Chef David in every dish he creates.
A passionate self-taught chef, David believes that great food should not only delight the palate but also nourish the body. His travels have shaped his culinary style, inspiring him to blend his European and American roots with fresh techniques and flavors from around the world. By celebrating the natural character of each ingredient and embracing a balanced, wholesome approach to cooking, Chef David creates thoughtful, flavorful meals tailored to each guest’s preferences—making every dining experience aboard Blue Time both memorable and nourishing.
First Mate: Sam Spruill
Sam is a North Carolina native who grew up fishing and hunting on the water and has been passionate about nature and the outdoors his whole life. Sam knew from an early age that he was destined for life at sea. He joined the yachting industry after graduating from East Carolina, where he pursued a degree in education. Rather than becoming a high school history teacher, he followed his passion for exciting adventures and travel. Sam has spent the last five years gathering experience on various yachts, traveling from Costa Rica on to Alaska, and Maine to the Bahamas. He is always looking for a new challenge, new places to explore, and more trophy fish to add to the photo album.
Chief Stewardess: Leanna Richards
Leanna is a Florida native, born and raised in Fort Lauderdale, with a lifelong love for the ocean. After studying Marine Science in the Florida Keys, she quickly jumped into the boating industry and even spent time living aboard a sailboat, embracing the simplicity of life at sea and deepening her appreciation for the boating lifestyle. An avid freediver, she loves sharing her passion for the ocean while creating memorable experiences and taking exceptional care of every guest.
As a stewardess, Leanna combines her warm personality, positive attitude, and attention to detail to provide outstanding hospitality. She loves adding thoughtful, creative touches that make every charter special and is dedicated to ensuring each guest feels welcomed, relaxed, and genuinely cared for throughout their time aboard Blue Time.
Second Stewardess: Olivia Beaven
Olivia was brought up in Flagler Beach, a small town on Florida's East Coast. Olivia was introduced to synchronized swimming and surfing before she could walk. She spent her youth surfing throughout the world, learning about different cultures and people. She had known since a child that she was destined to see the world from the sea. Olivia's desire to provide outstanding service and engage with individuals from all over the world led her to pursue a career in the yachting industry.
Olivia’s warm and welcoming demeanor ensures guests feel at home from the moment they step on board. She is dedicated to providing exceptional service and strives to make every stay aboard M/Y Blue Time a truly unforgettable experience.
Deckhand: Nick Vincent
Nick was raised in a small suburb of Minnesota, just an hour north of the Twin Cities. Growing up on the lake, he spent his summers fishing, playing water sports, and adventuring outdoors with friends. Winters were filled with pond hockey, snowboarding, and snowmobiling, all while balancing his passion as a competitive gymnast year-round.
Nick’s love for the ocean was inspired by his travels through Costa Rica, exploring its national parks and stunning coastlines. This connection to nature and adventure ultimately led him to pursue a career at sea, where he brings enthusiasm, hard work, and a passion for life on the water.
Enginner: Jose Torres
Originally from Venezuela, Jose holds an engineering degree from the Maritime University of the Caribbean and brings over a decade of experience in the maritime industry. He is certified in project management by the University of South Florida and holds a Technical Management qualification issued by RINA Class. Outside of work, he enjoys reading and playing guitar—activities that provide both grounding and inspiration while at sea.
